Trash Track Lecture
As part of the exhibit, “Toward the Sentient City,” MIT Associate Director, Assaf Bideman presented the Trash Track project at The Architectural League of NY last night. Pictured above, I am holding the mobile device deployed in trash from Seattle, New York, and London. Researchers at MIT are currently gathering the data from these devices as they travel through the city’s waste management system to reveal the end-of-life journey of our everyday objects.
Assaf spoke of other MIT Senseable City Lab projects, many of which explore ways to implement and harness smart data to inform citizens and city planners. Watch the podcast here.
